Care Home Clothing Supplier – Case Study

One of our customers includes a care home clothing supplier. They had a large batch of unwanted PPE aprons and gowns to dispose of. These were boxed and palletised at a warehouse ready to be collected.

How We Helped

The customer needed the PPE covid waste disposal and recycling completed within 5-7 days. We met this demand and arranged 2 lorries to collect the materials on back-to-back days. In total, we recycled over 26 tonnes of LDPE waste.

The Collection & Recycling Process

Our team arranged quick collections to meet the customer’s requirements. This meant we could remove the materials quickly and have them recycled at our facilities. The LDPE waste can then be recycled into new products and allow our customers to cut their carbon footprint.

Recycling Reports & Documentation

A full report including the total recorded weights is given out to the customer following the completion of collections. This provides our customers with both legal documentation, and data to understand the full collection and recycling process we have provided.

Environmental & Cost Benefits

Plastic Expert was able to clear their warehouse of waste with quick collections, minimising costs. The care home suppliers not only boosted their recycling rates, but were able to free up space at their premises and cut disposal costs.
