Boohoo’s Proactive PPT Work
Boohoo has been praised for their proactive work in ensuring suppliers are aligned to comply with the UK plastic packaging tax. The plastic packaging tax began in the UK on April 1st 2022. It applies at a rate of £200/tonne on plastic packaging with less than 30% recycled plastic, manufactured or imported into the UK.
How Has Boohoo Been Proactive?
Boohoo have sourced a supplier that uses 100% recycled materials and recyclable packaging. They are also looking to continue using independent suppliers as long as they can prove that their poly bogs used are at least 50% recycled materials, and made from LDPE (low density polyethylene) only.
